Check out these great tips on how to pamper yourself before your boudoir session!!!
If this is your first (or even second) boudoir shoot it is the perfect excuse to pamper yourself…and of course because you deserve it!
I don’t know about you but I don’t really find the time to pamper myself, it seems if I shop only when I absolutely need to or get a mani/pedi for a very special occasion. But what I do know is even something as small as a mani/pedi makes you feel wonderful and puts a little spring in your step (especially in the dreary winter months). So if you are doing a boudoir shoot whether it’s for your sweetie or just because it is a perfect time to spoil yourself!
Here are some of my ideas and tips:
- Hire a professional hair and make up stylist for your boudoir shoot. We have an in-house artist who’s amazing work can be seen in some of my photos. Professionally applied make up with might I add some totally dramatic falsies will add such flare, glamour and did I mention drama to your eyes and will give you that fierce diva look! Check out the info on our stylist!
- Why not treat yourself to a mani and a pedi? OPI has some amazing colours and lacquer nail apps. My personal favorite nail app is the “Pink & Black Lace” and Super Bass nail polish by OPI Nicki Minaj line. They also have awesome products if you are a do it yourself mani/pedi girl such as scrubs, masks, moisturizing foot massage lotions, callus softeners and foot soaks!
- While we are on the subject of pampering…a boudoir session is also an awesome excuse to update the lingerie department in your wardrobe! Make sure to bring a variety of your most favorite outfits, colourful pieces sure add a nice contract in photos.
- Did I mention that some sassy pair of high heels look totally awesome with fishnets, pull up stockings or… with bare skin!
- Last and most important is…buy a good body scrub and moisturizer. Exfoliating provides better absorption of lotions, maintaining youthful and hydrated skin. Sugar scrubs are gentler than salt scrubs, less dehydrating, won’t sting on shaving nicks and are good for all skin types, especially dry skin. My personal favorite is 100% natural scrub line from Rocky Mountain Soap (a local Alberta company). Check out this line of scrubs here and natural moisturizers here.
Take this time to relax and take care of yourself and most importantly have fun!
