Historically, the boudoir formed part of the private suite of rooms of a lady, for bathing and dressing, adjacent to her bedchamber, being the female equivalent of the male cabinet. In later periods, the boudoir was used as a private drawing room, and was used for other activities, such as embroidery or spending time with one’s romantic partner.
Boudoir photos are usually taken wearing either just a little, or well, nothing at all. They’re hardly X-rated though, but rather PG-13 — as in classic pinup-inspired pics, or what the pros call ‘implied nudes.’ That means you’re not wearing anything, but you’re also not showing off anything either (think shot from the back, or lying on your tummy). It is also a sexy new trend that’s extremly popular as a wedding day gift from a bride to her groom. It is also a great and unique gift for anniversaries, birthdays or just for yourself!!!
Boudoir parties are a great excuse to gather your bwsties, get glammed up, pamper yourself, enjoy good food, music and friends and have your very own boudoir photo session. Boudoir parties are perfect for a one-of-a-kind bachelorette party, birthdays, GNO {girls night out} or “just because!”
If you booked your very first Boudoir shoot trying to figure out what to wear. the most important thing — choose outfits that make you feel sexy! A good rule of thumb: Bring something white, something black, and something in a bright color (pink and red is very popular) so you can mix and match. A corset will create sexy curves. In addition to lingerie, don’t forget shoes (stilletos and or boots), jewelry, and that engagement ring.
In short, there are PLENTY of reasons why every woman should treat herself with a boudoir photoshoot…the main one is to capture your unique beauty through tasteful, natural and elegant photographic creativity in an environment where you can be comfortableand express yourself!
